To remove the shifter knob from a 1996 Monte Carlo Z34, first, ensure the vehicle is in "Park" and turn off the ignition. Look for a small set screw or a retaining clip at the base of the knob; if there’s a screw, use an appropriate screwdriver to loosen it.
