You must start by slow and gradual aerobic exercise, not running, only walking. After one week start to walk at a faster pace. You can also start by walking in a swimming pool or in a beach. You can complement with moving in a rocking chair while you read or look television.

When you notice that your heart does not run so fast and you are able to keep the breathing rate low when walking (about one or two months later), you can start with short burst of conservative running or swimming and with some workout machines under supervision. From then on, follow a trainers advice or slowly add on new or longer workouts.

The most important is to start gradually, to have fun (choose workouts tat are fun for you) and to have an schedule with no excuses.
