Location of egr valve on 1999 subaru legacy?

I'm not familiar with that particular engine but... Look for a metal pipe coming off one of the exhaust manifols that does not lead out the tail pipe. What that pipe leads into is EGR valve, there may be multiple components connected by rubber hoses. You can always buy new part first so you know what to look for.
