The best way to detox opiods is a to drink plenty of water, exercise( sweat glands cause opiods to come out) and good ole fashion time if of course you dont use them again. 72 hours is the time frame maybe more because some substances hide in the fatty tissues. It does take 72 hours for opiods to leave your system, no sooner. Opiod detox is dangerous cause you could have a seizure in these 72 hours. You cant stop drugging drugging, you cant stop smoking smoking, & you cant stop drinking drinking! There are a few ways to do this. Methadone, suboxone, or subutex can be used to do this. Methadone can be used starting with 25 mgs & move down 5mgs a day for 5 days. Subutex can be used starting with 8mgs(2mgs every 6 hours) & come down 2mgs a day till finished always getting a dose in the am and filtering out the miday doses and getting a dose at bedtime. Suboxone which has naltrexone in it which is a blocker for opiods to the brain also start with 8mgs and work your way down in 2mgs a day till finished. Very important that before starting these medications you wait 24 hours since your last use of opiods. Make sure you are experiencing withdrawal symptoms. Drink plenty of water since detoxing will lower your blood pressure & water will help raise blood pressure. Motrin for any body aches or uncomfortablenesss. Once you are detoxed you will experience sleeplessness but your doctor could prescribe you trazadone. Good luck to you & get involved in the 12 steps of AA or NA & it will change your life
