The thermostat is behind the timing belt on the front of the right hand bank of cylinders. You need to remove the top engine cover, front engine cover, serpentine belt and tensioner, and the timing belt covers to see the thermostat housing. I'm in the process of doing this right now, so it's new to me. There are hoses which connect to an alloy body on the right. This alloy body is the thermostat housing. It seems to be held on by 2 bolts on the left hand side of this housing. google for a picture of the housing to get a better idea.
