In English, the first letter of the first Word in a sentence is capitalized.
The other uses of capital letters to begin or form Words in English:
- For proper nouns : names of people and places, brand names, companies
- For names of books, plays, poems, and other dramatic forms, and artworks
- For religions or nationalities (e.g. Catholic, French)
- For a common noun when it is referring to a specific person (e.g. Father, or the Queen)
- For the personal pronoun I and any other single alphabetical letter
- For the months of the year and days of the week
- For initials and acronyms
- For deities (a Word meaning God) and personifications of concepts (Nature, Death)
