Do you need license to ride a scooter i fl?

As long as the scooter is 50cc or less (49.5 cc = 50cc to the state) and you are 16 or older you need a regular driver's license.

However - if it has actual pedals on it and it is 50cc or less - it is considered a moped and you do not need a license. I know I drove one for years here in FL without a valid license (suspended for speeding WAY over the limit - youth and stupidity sometimes go hand in hand.

Also - you have to be at least 16 to ride a scooter (permit is acceptable if someone is following you on another bike or scooter or car.
