How do you get your little sister to shut up?

Give her what she wants in exchange for silence. Be nice or it won't work.

For example:

Lisa is yapping away.

"Hey Lisa, do you want to watch TV now? I know a great movie."

or,

"Hey Lisa, remember that new bike you wanted for Christmas? Well, if you stay quiet for... oh 30 minutes, no talking at all, I'll put in a good Word for you-- I swear"

BAM.

Lisa stopped talking. You can finish your essay that's due tomorrow.

Hey Lisa, I promise I'll stop insulting you and thinking everything you say is stupid, uninteresting and air-headed. I also promise to stop yelling at you to SHUT UP every-time you speak and make you feel small and lower than a squashed ant.

Maybe you should be a better listener cause anyone who talks that much must be in emotional pain......

She may need help.

God gave us two ears and one mouth...stop using yours and listen....it may be she needs a friend.....
