What do whale sharks eat?

The whale shark is a filter feeder. The whale shark's diet consists of plankton, small fishes , and sometimes larger fishes. They feed by opening their mouth wide and swimming around near the surface, therefore, they eat pretty much whatever floats into their mouth as long as they can swallow it.
