The first dose of immediate release Adderall peaks in about 4 hours and then, if a second dose is not taken, begins its decline. If a second dose is taken at around the 4 hour mark, it actually reaches a peak higher than the first dose in about 1 to 2 hours after it is taken. If a third dose is not taken, then the second dose begins its decline from its peak in about 8 hours after taking the first dose. Adderall, however, can be very variable both from day to day for the same person and from one individual to another. Therefore, these times are only approximations and depend on a number of variables.

Adderall IR once consumed orally will kick in within 30 minutes to an hour and will last around 4 hours, while the XR version lasting around 8-10 hours. Snorting the adderall will highten the euphoria felt, but will cut those times in half.
