While the caterpillar is technically incapable of biting, the male caterpillar has hollow point retractable claws on its hind legs that are capable of inflicting a sting whose venom ranks between the Sydney Funnel Web Spider and the South American Poison Dart Frog in terms of the world's most dangerous neurotoxins. It is said that a single drop of the caterpillar's venom is enough to kill ten regular sized adult men, or up to fifteen smaller, more weight conscious men.
