Wolves do not currently live in Connecticut. The Eastern Timber Wolf was historically present in the region, but it was extirpated from the area in the early 20th century. Although there are occasional reports of wolf sightings, these are typically cases of lone individuals dispersing from populations in other states. Currently, Connecticut's wildlife primarily includes coyotes, which are often mistaken for wolves.
