What is a diet for an ant?

It depends on the species of ant. The leaf cutter ant, cuts leaves, takes them back to their nests, then they place them in a special garden within the nest, fungus grows on the leaves and this is fungus is fed to the colony. Other ants eat grains or other insects, some even eating chicks or birds. Lizards, snakes and caterpillars, to name but a few menu items.
