comes from the Word Petite-Yankee or small yankee. It has been used in many countries in Latin-America to designed those nationals that seem to identify themselves with U.S. instead of their own country and culture. Its use in the context of a "american wanna-be". Or in other context, someone capable of dismissing and look down to his/her own origins and its culture and thinks US nationals are better.
