Generally, a "high fashion" model weighs around 110 lbs. A model's bust, waist and hip measurements matter more than weight but usually body weight is around that number to have "model-worthy" measurements. For most teens/women who are 5"8, your natural, healthy weight and measurements are probably above model proportion - this is because the weight most models are is below average. If you were able to somehow lose weight so that you were at an average "model size", it would be difficult to maintain that low weight while eating healthy, unless you were just naturally that weight. Eating healthy is absolutely essential - if you're not eating enough, you feel tired and miserable and your gen eral health and well-being is affected negatively.

These unrealistic size expectations placed on models are one thing that need to change in the moDELLing industry, but it seems like for the next little while models are still going to be this size. MoDELLing does seem glamorous, but many aspects of moDELLing are unpleasant. Firstly, it is very difficult to get to the point of getting hired by "important" designers, and once a model succeeds it's difficult for her to continue being successful. It is really not as high-paying as it seems and models actually end up owing a lot of money to their agency. Most of the time models are treated as human clothes hangers and not human beings. Models do get to travel but it's a very fast-paced, busy lifestyle and you don't really have much time to experience the places you're being sent to.

You should consider these factors and do a little more research into the modeling industry and see if it's something that you are willing to pursue.

Remember that models of an average model weight are not seen often because they are a minority. If every model would have the weight of everyone, they wouldn't be special like they are now. If you need to lose weight, just intake less calories than you lose. Search how much training time you need to achieve to lose the calories you took, on internet. Remember that if you are shaped like a model and you just need to lose a few pounds, you can become a model.
