How do you tell if 2002 Toyota Tacoma has factory alarm?

i can tell how other factory systems have alarms, if you use the key or button inside the door or key fob to lock the doors, once you try to open the door(s) once it is locked the the alarm is activated via key or fob (remote lock)or lock button on the door the alarm will go off if you just try to open the door is when it is locked the alarm will go off it may vary on Toyota systems. It works this way on my girlfriends 07 Subaru impreza but on my 97 sable(witch does not have an alarm does not go off ). hope this helps!!
