What is the loudest natural sound in the present day?

Someone posted on FB that "The low frequency call of the Humpback Whale is the loudest noise made by a living creature, and can be heard from 500 miles away."

I want to know if that was measured strictly underwater or if this is in fact the loudest noise made by a living creature...
