What are the differences between chrysanthemums and carnation flowers?

The biggest difference between mums and carnations is that carnations smell sweet and spicy, a little like cloves. Chrysanthemums do not have a pleasant smell. Chrysanthemums are fall flowers and carnations are summer flowers.
