Why does car take a long time to start?

If it cranks slowly, it may be time for a new battery or starter, but check and clean the battery and cables first. If it cranks quickly and is hard starting, it is probly time fr a good tune up. New plugs, pcv valve, fuel filter, air filter. Also check the idle air control valve, if they are dirty it can make it hard to start. Alo check the plug wires cap and rotr and change if needed or aplicable. If after all that you may have a weak ignition coil or problem with the ignition module.
