Which came first insects or amphibians?

Insects came first, appearing on Earth around 400 million years ago during the Devonian period. Amphibians evolved later, approximately 370 million years ago, from lobe-finned fish that adapted to life on land. Therefore, insects predate amphibians by about 30 million years.
