Advantages and disadvantages of fuses

Advantage: a fuse is guaranteed to pop only when too many amps are pulled, unlike a circuit breaker that may be "accidentally" turned off by some practical joker.

Disadvantage: You must have spares on hand (or go buy them when needed) unlike a circuit breaker which can be reset over and over.
