Why did God make the world round?

One can think of God as a cosmic physicist:

All planets and moons are round IF they have diameters

of at least a few hundred kilometers. Otherwise they're just big rocks

and can have any shape.

A rock, like a human, is held up against gravity by intermolecular forces.

Otherwise a rock in space would contract to a point because of gravity.

But as the body gets bigger, the gravitational forces get bigger and the

intermolecular forces do not, and gravity pulls the mass into a ball:

that's the shape of minimum potential energy, i.e. all the matter is as

close to all the other matter as possible.

My answer is "So that no matter how small or insignificant you think you are, you're still on top.... :)
