Plantations are where large amounts of crops are grown in specific conditions. This may be crops such as coffee or reforestation areas. Hence a plantation program is a, usually commercialized, long-time plantation that is made to produce the most yield at lowest cost. Today most of these programs also aim to be environmentally sustainable.
