How do you replace fuel tank sending unit on 1988 Midsubishi Montero?

The fuel tank sending unit is found in the gas tank of the 1988 Mitsubishi Montero. To replace it, one needs to remove the gas tank, take out the sending unit and put the new one in. This should only be performed by somebody properly trained.
