Toyota stopped producing solid axle Toyota trucks in the United States after the 1995 model year. The transition to independent front suspension began with the 1996 model year for the Tacoma, marking the end of the solid front axle in their light-duty trucks. Solid axles can still be found in some Toyota models outside the U.S., such as the Land Cruiser and certain versions of the Hilux in other markets.
