Why was Tom found guilty in To Kill a Mockingbird?

The reason is because Tom Robinson is black male. Back during the time era a white woman's Word Word over rule by far any black mans Word, even if every one knew the real truth. Tom Robinson was falsely convicted since there is proof that her father had allegedly beat her.
