How are animals differeent?

the most simplest answer:

every animal has a gene. A gene defines the characteristics of that particular animal. today there are so many different species. we have a record which is increasing every year. The varieties of animals and plants is the result of the 3000 million years evolutionary process of nature.
God made different species or kinds. Members of the same species can generate offspring (have babies) but those from different species cannot.
