In a diary (also called a personal journal), you can write or write about:

  • include the day of week and the date / year.
  • What you did "today".
  • Who you saw or talked to today.
  • What reactions you felt to the persons you saw today.
  • Conversations you had with other people.
  • How you felt about someone else.
  • What happened in your town today.
  • Did anything important happen to you?
  • What was most important about today, even if it was an ordinary day?
  • Write about problems and your feelings
  • What do you think could solve your problems?
  • What's secretly on your mind that you can't tell anyone?
  • Do you like your life?
  • If you don't like your life, why?
  • Pick one of your problems and write 4 sentences about it.
  • Write 2 sentences about what you think about those 4 sentences-- do you think you said everything in 4 sentences? Do you understand your own problem?
  • What makes you happy? sad?
  • What makes you giggle? cry?
  • What do you feel when you wake up? Go to sleep?
  • Who ARE you, really?
  • What's something nobody knows about you?
  • If you met your favorite celebrity, what would you say and why?
  • Draw a picture of "you"-- yes, you can draw and doodle in your diary.
  • Draw a picture of yourself 5 years from now.
  • What do you want to "be" or "become"?
  • What annoys you to no end?
  • Did you smile today, feel happy?
  • What did you feel while doing washing dishes or an ordinary activity?
  • Look out your window--write about what you see.
  • Think of your best-best friend--- write about why they are your friend.
  • If you don't have a friend--why not?
  • Write and tell yourself what you most like about yourself....
  • Do you want to change anything about yourself?
  • Why?

THOSE are just some ideas!
