Having had both done, personal experience has to say that having them both done doesn't quite hurt as much as the aftermath up until they've both healed. If you have a low pain tolerance, then try to go for a navel piercing instead because you will really only feel it whenever you bend over and your stomach creases upon itself at the navel. In example, when you put on socks, pants, shoes, etc. You will feel it as a numb sensation, and will only be rudely reminded of it's presence when you do the above mentioned, and similar actions.
Tongue, will swell for a few days and the process of getting it done hardly hurts at all. As many have said before, and I agree on this-- Biting your tongue hurts more than getting it done. However, the feeling the following day or two, or more depending on how well you maintain it, it will swell and be difficult to eat, swallow, and talk. Eating anything that isn't liquid will move the barbell and will rudely remind you that it's still there, however freezy pops from your local grocer can help ease this and shorten the length of time it is swollen. It is all personal preference, but is very well worth the patience, bother, and efforts in the end.
