Why are uggs so expensive?

Ugg brand of footwear uses Grade-A sheepskin that has been treated on both the fleece and skin sides to be extra soft. Sheepskin is valued for its temperature-regulating properties even in the most extreme weather conditions. Sheepskin also allows the foot to "breathe" and keeps the foot dry, preventing moisture (and therefore odor) from building up around the foot.

Uggs are super expensive because they are made of real fur. Some people say they're comfortable, but how comfortable would you feel killing an animal for a warm foot?

yes- UGGs have real sheep fur (i just bought a pair it says so on the package, and it would be illegal if they were lying) but no they don't kill the sheep. they just shave off its fur.
