The kshatriyas were one of the four primary varnas (social classes) in ancient Indian society, traditionally associated with the warrior and ruler class. Their primary duties included protecting and governing the land, upholding justice, and maintaining order. They were responsible for military service and were often tasked with defending their kingdom from invaders, as well as managing the administration and welfare of their subjects. In addition to their martial responsibilities, kshatriyas were also expected to uphold dharma, or moral duty, in leadership and governance.
