Sugar effects everyone who ingests it. People who have a diet including a lot of sugar are at risk for developing Diabetes if they do not already have it.

Other side effects include cavities and obesity. It is common knowledge that high sugar diets can cause cavities. Eating a lot of sugar can also heavily contribute to obesity. Products containing a lot of sugar frequently have what are called "empty calories". Sugar is full of calories, and they are "empty" because they do not contribute anything to the body (nutrients, vitamins, etc). A lot of these empty calories can cause weight gain in both non-diabetics and diabetics as well.
