What made it a world war?

Because of the fact that the entire world was consumed by war. The Allied Powers (United States, Soviet Union, Britain, Norway, France, New Zealand, and many more countries). And the Axis Powers, (Germany, Japan, Italy, and more). It was truly a world at war.
