Why can't I use Google as my only browser?

One good reason might be that "google" isn't a browser, it's a search engine company.

They make a browser called Chrome, and there's nothing that I know of stopping you from using it as your only browser if you want to. ActiveX controls won't work on it, but hardly anyone uses those anyway.
