No. Temptation itself is not a sin. Following up on the temptation, or continually seeking the temptation is a sin.
Through scripture, we know that Jesus Christ was without sin (1John 3:5 as one example), however The Bible also states that Jesus was a victim of temptation (Matthew 4:1-11).
Since the bible states that Jesus was without sin, however he WAS tempted leads us to the conclusion that temptation itself is NOT a sin.
James 1:14-15 states: "Each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death."
