It is horrible. Costs are astronomical and insurance companies are out of control, as well as the legal issues associated with malpractice. It may well be the best we have ever had, and no one wants to go back in time to archaic levels of technology, but the total picture is there is too much greed and fear driving the costs too, too high. I include pharmaceutical companies in this indictment. Did you know that the exact same medication, with the exact same packaging, made by the exact same plant, can cost 3 to 8 times more in the US than abroad. And that is simply because "we will pay it". That is obscene.
