They are 14th cousins 4 times removed through their common ancestor of Hugh de Stafford. Robert E. Lee's line of Lees trace back through Virginia and previously to Worcestershire, England. Harper Lee's line of Lees trace back to South Carolina. Any connection between the two Lee families is unlikely but possible.
