Is timing the same as firing order?

no ( for example my 1991 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 liter V8 engine timing was ten degrees

before top dead center ( BTDC ) and the firing order was 1 - 3 - 7 - 2 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 8 )
