Is there any turtle sickness

Yes. Turtles have been known to carry Salmonella. They should be handled appropriately. Wash your hands thoroughly after handling a turtle or its habitat. Small children should not be permitted to handle them due to the concern. They might not understand what they should do and could put their hands in their mouth or touch other objects before cleaning their hands. The U.S. banned the sale of turtles under 4 inches because of the problem. See Related Links.
