What did George VI do?

With deep and abiding faith and feality to his country, the British Empire, he led London through the darkest days of WWII. The bombing of London, the bombing of Buckingham Palace, his speeches gave Englandeers with fortitude to stay strong and believe they would win the battle. He and his wife were perhaps the strongest Monarchs in England's history. Hitler called Queen Elizabeth (his wife) the person in Britain he feared the most. She kept George VI stable and strong during those times.
