Why Did World War World War 1 Break Out On 1914?

Archduke Franz Ferdinand was shot dead along with his wife sometime in July 1914, starting a war between Austria-Hungary and Serbia, with Serbia quickly backed up by Russia, and Austria-Hungary backed up by Germany. From there, many countries joined the war to expand their empires, keep their allies safe from invasion, prosper greatly and to show off their power.
