How do you check for power to fuel pump?

my 95 caprice 4d, is not staying on, it turns over but doesnt stay on. this is how it happend i went to warm up the car, went back in side for like 15min. went back out gas ran out , i put more gas in about 5g. now my check gage light is on and car wont start?
