What does oil around spark plugs mean on a 98 Pontiac grand am?

IF you are talking about "outside" the engine, on the plugs and on the heads around the plugs, then the cause is probably one of two things:

• Someone spilled oil on the top of the engine [as when adding oil to the crankcase, or
• There is a "rocker cover" gasket leak above the area wet with oil.
