Why do dogs have a stong sense of smell?

Do you mean when do dogs develop a sense of smell if you do, its about 3 months google search about finding out how old your dog is and it will pull up a site or two on figuring out how old your dog is in which it will tell you when they start seeing smelling hearing etc. its obvious especially the smart ones.
