What happens if a mangaka misses their deadline?

most mangakas would often hire a team of assistants if they thought that they wouldn't reach their deadline, however, if they are stubborn enough to lead themselves into a false sense of security and they do happen to miss their deadline, there could be any sort of consequence from having a delay in the release of a volume to being fired.
