Why does Lady Gaga have pointy shoulders?

Lady Gaga had some special effects and makeup artists work on her face and shoulders, and add in prosthetic, real-looking pointy bits, almost like horns, put in, but her pointy sholders aren't real. Its just a costume effect. : )
