How does Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows take place 19 years later?

The story itself did not take place 19 years later. There was an epilogue at the very end that talked about what happened to the main three, and it was based 19 years later. It just gave us a look at Harry, Ron, and Hermione as adults.
