How did Icarus get himself in difficult situation?

Icarus found himself in a difficult situation after he and his father, Daedalus, escaped from Crete using wings crafted from feathers and wax. Ignoring his father's warnings, Icarus flew too close to the sun, driven by the thrill of flight and a desire for freedom.
