Why does my car make a squeeling noise for the first few minutes after starting on a cold day. Its a common rail diesel.?

it is probably one of the drive belts (fan,alternator, power steering, air conditioning) that needs adjusting or replacing. it probably doesn't do it when the engine is warm does it? the fact that it is a common rail diesel doesn't make any difference. hope this helps
