Baby possums, or joeys, are quite small and spend most of their time in their mother's pouch during the early stages of development. Once they begin to leave the pouch, they can crawl and move slowly, typically at a pace of about 1 to 2 miles per hour. As they grow and develop, their speed can increase, but they remain relatively slow compared to adult possums. Overall, their movement is influenced by their age and level of development.
